The cluster’s health is constantly monitored by Pacemaker & Corosync, an enterprise-grade cluster management stack. They act as the system’s “brain,” sending “heartbeat” checks every second. If a heartbeat is missed from the active server—due to hardware failure, network issues, or software glitches—the cluster instantly and automatically triggers a failover.
All your phones and SIP trunks connect to a single, virtual “Floating IP,” not the physical IP of a server. During a failover, this Floating IP is instantly reassigned to the standby server, which then becomes the new active server.
